Daniel Baker, PC is a privately owned Land Surveying and Mapping practice serving private, public and institutional clients. In 2013, we celebrate 25 years of serving clients in the Southeastern United States particularly here in Northwest Georgia. We have experience in all aspects of Land Surveying and Mapping and work for a variety of private sector and public sector clients. We are committed to maintain staff that possesses superior skills, knowledge, and experience.
Our firm holds Certificates of Authorization for providing Land surveying Services with the Georgia and Alabama Boards of Registration for Engineers and Land Surveyors and has been providing surveying and mapping services in Georgia and other Southeastern states since 1985. We have focused on providing our services to public and private sector clients and as a result, we have established and maintained successful business relationships with a number of government and private sector clients, including the Georgia Department of Transportation, Fulton County, Bartow County, and Cobb County, Georgia.

Daniel Baker, PC principals are each licensed Professional Land Surveyors and together have over 100 years of senior level Land Surveying experience. Each survey party chief and survey technician at Daniel Baker, PC is on a professional career track or has already earned a license to practice. In contrast to competing firms, Daniel Baker, PC does not utilize junior level survey crews, only senior level survey crews that have a wealth of experience and knowledge in all aspects of land surveying and mapping. This has been key to our success in producing superior quality work products and continued relationships with our clients.
Daniel Baker, PC serves our clients with from our office in Cartersville, Georgia. Daniel Baker, PC has established relationships and teaming agreements with local subcontract firms specializing in landscape architecture, civil engineering, aerial photography and topography, LiDar 3D Laser scanning, underground utility location including firms that utilize remote camera investigation services for underground utility lines. These firms are under teaming agreements with Daniel Baker, PC and remain available for project assignments as needed.
The heart of Daniel Baker, PC is housed in our Cartersville office. Formed and developed over the past 28 years by Daniel T. Baker, PLS, the surveying and mapping group consists of three licensed professional land surveyors, four field crews, four survey technicians and two administrative assistants. Our licensed land surveyors hold professional licenses in Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama and Florida. We also have three professionals licensed, Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission (GSWCC) Level II Certified Design Professionals. Our staff also maintains current OSHA 40 hour certifications for the purpose of working on hazardous waste and industrial and commercial sites.
The firm’s president, Daniel T. Baker is a second generation Land Surveyor, his father, the late Trenholm Baker LS, LA was an innovator in the Land Surveying and Landscape Architecture professions and served multiple terms as State President of The Surveying and Mapping Society of Georgia (SAMSOG) and was widely regarded as one of the finest surveyors in Georgia. Joseph Baker, younger brother of Daniel also serves as Surveying and Mapping Department Manager for our firm. All employees at Daniel Baker, PC had the distinct privilege of obtaining experience and knowledge from Trenholm Baker. In fact, Daniel and Joseph both began working on their father Trenholm’s survey crews and office beginning with after school hours and summers from the time that they were very young.
Daniel Baker, PC realizes the value of utilizing the latest in Surveying and surveyMapping technology. We have state of the art survey equipment such as conventional Electronic Distance Meters (EDMs), Reflectorless EDMs, Robotic EDMs, GPS dual frequency base and receiver units with Real Time Kinematic (RTK) capability, and a Laser 3D scanner. All these field instruments are driven by data collectors that use field to finish software platforms that we also utilize in the office to prepare our reports, drawings and plats. Our office equipment is based on a network that uses large scale plotters, printers and scanners. We have the capability to work within several industry standard survey software platforms such as AutoCAD Land Desktop Design, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Micro Station Inroads, C&G, and Carlson Civil / Survey. Maintaining this investment in the finest available resources enables us to adequately service the needs of any client’s project requirements.
